Question regarding engine heat

On my Pioneer 500 I noticed that I seem to be getting a lot of heat coming up from the area under the seat between seat belts.
The temp gauge shows only two bars and the coolant and oil normal levels. I know that the hose from the radiator and the exhaust
both run under the seat in this area. Just wondered if anyone else has noticed the same thing as I never noticed this until recently ?

Yeah... they all do that. Many of us have put some insulation behind and under the seat. Others have wrapped the exhaust.

It's normal since your pretty much sitting on top of the motor. The seat belt area would be hard to seal off. If it bothers you (this time of year I would welcome any heat) a bilge fan blowing across the motor would probably be the best solution.

Rustell & toodeep....thanks guys for the quick reply. As long as this is normal for the 500 I am not going to worry about it at this time, the heat this time of year in Buffalo
feels good but in the summer not so much. This spring I may look into putting some type of insulation under the seat.

On the Honda SxS forum, somebody mentioned they had great luck with a gel seat cushion, it insulates against the heat, on top of adding some extra cushion to sit on.
