and my 700-2 only has 125 miles on it! The 1000 will be much higher priced as they went all out with the goodies.

I doubt the horsepower will be very much, I don't think its a v block, I'd say it will just have a lot of torque and low end

Think it will be a little detuned around 60hp and a lot of torque. Honda will do a sport model with this engine would have around 75 hp with a aggressive cam and another 10 inches of wheelbase plus around 13 inches of suspension travel. Will be next year tho. Honda USA and R&D is going to kick butt and not look back they are all in. Rode with them guys they want to make and give us all we want in a SxS.

Coincidentally, 60 hp has been my guess with a maximum of 75 hp. I agree, torque will be the primary goal with six speeds to help.

Is the physical dimensions, (width and length) the same as the 700? I see they have 3 seats in the front.

As long as they engineered this thig with Honda reliability, the other companies should be very concerned. It looks, at the surface, everything most people would want, with the exception of pure sport enthusiasts.

From Honda's web site.................

2016 Pioneer 1000 Horsepower Rating: Horsepower numbers have not been released at this time for the Pioneer 1000 / 1000-5.

2016 Pioneer 1000 Price: Honda has not stated what MSRP will be on these 2016 SxS models. They are telling us dealers we will have ALL of those fine details released to us in July. From the information Honda has provided to us dealers – We should see the base models starting around $13,999 give or take a couple dollars for the Pioneer 1000 / 3 Seater. Which isn’t too bad if it does come in around that price point as the Pioneer 700 has an MSRP of $10,299. For approximately $3,000 more you will be getting a LOT more machine. Naturally the Pioneer 1000 EPS model will come in a little higher due to those added features of the EPS model.

2016 Pioneer 1000-5 Price: Same as above, official pricing hasn’t been released just yet. That will be released to us dealer in just a few weeks. Using the same math above, the Pioneer 1000-5 MSRP / Price should come in around $3,000 higher than a current Pioneer 700-4 at $11,899. Adding the Deluxe package to the Pioneer 1000-5 will bump the price up substantially because you get even more bells and whistles than what the EPS version brings on the 1000. The Pioneer 1000-5 Deluxe will probably come in around the $18,999 mark give or take a few dollars.

2016 Pioneer 1000 / 1000-5 Release Date: Honda is stating “This Fall” but that is rather vague. We place our orders in August which should put the Pioneer 1000 in stock around September / October if they stick with the shipment dates like they have the last few years with MROP.

Looks like Honda has addressed a lot of the complaints/concerns from users of the 700. I think they have a winner with this one but my 700 will still take care of my needs for a long time yet.

2008 Weeres Pontoon
2008 Damon Daybreak

2012 Skidoo Skandic
