Looking into getting a pioneer. Found an 18 1000-5 deluxe on sale. What are some pros and cons? Are they dogs or do they perform pretty well on trails. Thanks

Most dealers do not "check" the machine out such as making sure all turf/2wd/4wd modes work and respond on the display.

I adjusted mine using info on these forums. Easy to perform. I got extras (hard top, wipers, soft doors, hard panel with sliding window, winch, and high lift snow plow, heater for my bride. I installed everything except the winch, and harness, front window, and heater... those items all required an additional harness. Salesman recommended I do everything else. I do to, but all very do able if you can follow directions and turn a wrench. $17799 out the door. By the way, we have already had cool mornings here in northern Michigan and the heater was fine! Shop around, put your time in on pricing.

I added frost king sound deadening to the bottom side of the floor board, put some heavy equipment/farm cab interior foam on the rear panel and roof.

Pioneer 1000-3... my machine is pretty hardy, I use it hard and still holds up as a nice ride for my wife... pretty much best of both worlds... Love the automatic transmission (not belt drive).

Inlaws have a new 850-i gator, nice machine but the Honda is faster, equally rugged, easier to use and QUIET!
