I looked at one of these in person before i got the pioneer. Really nice! However the legroom was much to short for me. I am 6 1 and could not get in and out very well.

IDK about those things. I'm wary of anything that doesn't even have a full set of specs listed on the website. (Suspension stroke, gear selections, etc) Plus where you gonna get parts for that thing?

If I was gonna spec out one of the mythical P1000's I'd want the following:

1000cc v-twin with 60+hp and an auto trans, maybe a DCT like the new Rubi, low gear
More suspension than the p700, maybe 9-10" of travel standard and a fox shock special edition with 12"
EPS and paddle shifters off the 500
Bigger tires, at least 26's if not 27's
Option of a middle seat or a nice center console with storage like a truck
Standard roof and metal skids.

I have a friend who is a Oreion dealer. I looked at them also but just not enough room for a 6'3 inch guy. He has put a turbo kit on his for $1700 and it puts out 98 hp.... to the rear wheels. It has a lot of features for the money has held up well. Still no low range though so he has to attack hills at speed.

.
Good many dealers within 30 minutes to 2 hours away from me. Not too sure on the parts situation though.

No low range was something that hopped out to me. I think a 4x4 Low would of been a great option for it.

I priced one at 15,000 with the cloth top.

I really am considering one not for off roading, but to drive to work, and cruise around in. Hit some dirt roads and minor trails, but nothing crazy.

It still wouldn't kit my SXS wants, but it would be one heck of a cool toy, and 15 grand for a fun time vehicle isn't bad. I could drive it to work on the main roads, and then drive through the woods on the way home.

Haha yeah, seriously. But, everyone has a Jeep. Even soccer moms who don't even know where the 4x4 lever is.

I've had 2 Jeeps. Honestly, didn't like them all that much....

Maybe they take the tried and true 475 cc and build a new bottom end. That way heads are the same- not 1100 cc but would be 1000cc nominally.
