abandon ship

sorry to say, i just couldn't take the lack in power anymore from the Pioneer. it struggled to get up some longer hills that weren't even steep. it was great for around my property, but if i tried to use it recreationally, it just didn't cut it. my dealer really took care of me when i traded it in.

traded it in on a new arctic cat wildcat trail. lost the dump bed feature, but the 63hp and fox shocks more than make up for it.

i had them swap my 27" ITP Blackwater Evolution tires over to the wildcat.
i installed the winch i had previously bought for the pioneer but never installed yet. and i pulled all the stereo stuff off my pioneer as well to put on the wildcat.

I've only got to ride it around the property, and over into a few hill climbs, and jesus the difference in power is just amazing. and its the same displacement as the pioneer was.

I like the arctic cat for what it is but the pioneer is nothing like a sport SxS. I would never buy a pioneer if i wanted to trail ride fast; hit jumps and all that stuff. I think most people buy the pioneer for hunting, work and slower trail riding. I would love to get an arctic cat or what i would of got RZR XC 800. For fast trail riding but i use pioneer for different stuff. I will probably get a sport SxS one day but keep pioneer for work and hunting. But that sport SxS will be a lot of fun i am sure. Congrats!!!

Nice!!! I been having the same issues. Pioneer really is a dog. If you ain't on flat land your screwed. Been really thinking of trading mine in for a while. It's up for sale now but only a few interested. And it's my boys favorite rig to go ride in.

Hoblik I wanted one but too many problems. Its better then Polaris but watch the oil cooler lines. They can blow off the engine. The hose clamps on the oil lines are a poor way of connecting. The oil pressure is high cold about 120 psi and about 90 psi warmed up. Check the shop manual to verify the oil pressure and make sure the dealer has updated the hose clamps. Watch the forum for problems, some have boiled over. I think its going to be the leader is the 50 inch sport market.

The pioneer struggles goin up little Hills. If I have this pioneer by hunting season I will see how it deals with a heavy load, and I'm pretty sure it will fail. The pioneer isn't a hunting rig. Unless you hunt on a farm

I beg to differ! I was @ 3000 ft and my pioneer rode the Hatfield and the outlaw trails with no problem! I even attempted a black trail. Yes its no speed demon and you should never compare to the rzr or any sport sxs, but what it lacks in speed it surely makes up for torque. The only mod I'am gonna make is the shocks.
