Even though Yamaha compares the Wolverine to the Pioneer and the Teryx, completely ignoring other manufacturers, it's not like either one.
The Pioneer is more utility oriented and the Teryx less so with each being capable of trail use also.
The Wolverine has no practical utility function. It is geared higher than the Rhino, Viking, Pioneer and Teryx. The suspension is pure sport. The pulling/hauling capacity is not utility minded.
It really shines on the trail. The shocks eat up every rough spot and the engine has ample torque. The cvt is loud at certain rpm. Yamaha should address that.
If you have any need of a dual use sxs, I would not recommend the Wolverine.

I'm not saying the pioneer is a much better SxS. The wolverine is faster and more HP. The shocks are way better. Skid plate is way better. It will be a lot better at trail riding too. I think if you mostly trail ride it would be a better SxS for that purpose , if that person can get over it having a belt.

I have owned a rzr, gator, mule and a rhino. I am 61 yrs old, began riding dirt bikes, 3 wheelers, and atv's many years ago.

I currently own a rzr, being replaced by a wolverine sxs after I sell the rzr.

Just awful listen to that whining its so loud. If we can hear it that loud through a camera hard case it must be super loud in person.

http://youtu.be/WqpbPwkfEoM When he tries to go up a small hill it barely made it. He even says that's full thottle. The low gear isn't low. It's so loud. Can not imagine it with a full windshield and top.

the cvt is loud at higher rpm's, needs some sound dampening. how someone can't make it up that hill with 4wd hi and low range and diff lock available to them is beyond me.
the Wolverine is geared higher than the Viking and Rhino, built for a different purpose. stock ground clearance is about 12 inches.
