Thanks for the info Chuck. King was my next step. I'll send them an email too. Let them know people are looking. I appreciate your efforts. We need to work to stimulate the aftermarket. Okay that sounded a little weird . Help move along the aftermarket.
Why do people call you Moose? Cause calling me Elk sounded funny
Heck I will let them borrow mine if they leave the new shocks on. lol
Where are they located?
King Shocks are located in California (Los Angeles area) about 100 miles north of me. I called them and even offered my Pioneer to them, but the guy I talked to didn't seem very interested. However, maybe if I had talked to someone else he might have been.
Moreover, if I had told him that I own 1000 acres of desert (it's true, but it's not prime property by any means) and that they would be welcome to set up a shock test track, maybe he would have been interested. Hmmm? maybe I should have made that offer to Walker Evans too. Oh well, the order is already in so I guess it is too late now.
Well I did it. I ordered a set of Walker Evans shocks for my Pioneer 4. Therefore in several weeks I should be able to report on how much of an improvement they make (I expect it to be significant).
I ordered them out of a Mid West dealer and was told to expect them in about two weeks. However it may be sooner if Walker Evans drop ships them direct as they are only 100 miles north of me.
These shocks, along with my tire upgrade (and then selling my stock tires & wheels) should add a little over $2000 to what I currently have in the Pioneer.
That really isn't out of line when one considers that is about the same additional cost an upgraded Limited Edition model usually is for other brand Side x Sides. Therefore, since Honda doesn't offer a LE model yet, we will just do it ourselves.
For those who might have thought I forgot to do the Walker Evans shock follow-up report, it's coming, I haven't forgot.
I have been told that the shocks will be shipped next week so I should be able to give the report within the next two weeks.
Hopefully, after spending over $1500, it will be a very positive report.
Not yet. I still haven't received them and if they don't come in by tomorrow then I will not be able to install them (and test em') until next week at the earliest.
I don't keep my Pioneer at home, I keep it at my desert place, so I can only install, and then test them, when I am over there. I should be there sometime next week so hopefully I can give a report by the end of next week.
I know a lot of people are anxious to hear how they work, but if it helps I am even more anxious then you are.
