I think this is one of those things where everyone is afraid to be the first one to do it. Once someone does it and posts up what it looks like and that they didn't run into any unexpected problems, I think there will be more people who would consider doing it themselves.

I would just cut about 4-6 inches out and weld it back the same way it is.. wouldn't try nothing fancy..

So did you just cut a bit off, weld it back together and put back on the roof? Anything more complicated than that? How much did you take off?

maybe this will help, i did it all by myself except had to get wife to help sit roof back on two 2.5 days
