Good news- my roof was delivered early today!

The roof fits perfectly with the gun rack. Since the rack attaches using the two cross members, it give the roof the ability to bend slightly where the roof contacts the gun rack mounting fork. I would definitely install the gun rack without the roof installed. Then, to install the roof start at the rear and work forward. The roof only has to move down about 1/4 to 1/2" because of the rack.

I put more details about the roof in a separate thread. Also, I would assume that this gun rack would not work with the moose brand roof as it appears to mount flush to the roll cage.

It has to be in a physical case, unloaded. It's Illinois. Alot of uneeded gun laws here.

Gotcha, well it would be tough to fit a gun in a case on the rack. It might work with a flimsy soft case. The barrel wouldn't have any issue but the stock may be too big.

Thanks for posting this thread.

Im totally in the market for a gun rack for my p500 and like you, I also got the Honda hard roof so I was worried about which would fit.

How many different models of gun racks were you looking at before you decided on this one? You could save me a TON of headache if I dont have to shop around to find what is best if you've already done it.

Price?

Retailer?

EDIT: looks like you got the Honda soft bag that goes above the head rest as well? That was next on my wish list!! Im assuming it installed no problem with the roof and all?

I looked at quite a few alternatives. What sold me on the Great Day rack was the build quality and design. I really like the rod and nut design to mount the rack. I purchased mine from ebay from Southside Honda for $120 and I would buy again in a heart beat!

As for the cargo bag, I think it is a must have. The p500 is real lacking in storage so anything helps. This bag sits up high in the back of your head space. It mounts to the cross bar above the headrests if you want to visualize where it will be. There is a nice assortment of sizes of pockets

Cool. Thx for your input.

One thing I cant tell from the pictures is if the gun rack will scratch the roll cage paint on the Honda? Is it metal on metal?

I have the storage bag mounted on the front bar, which works great you can get to everything while in the seat.

There are nice thick rubber covers on the forks that push against the roll bar so no scratching or slipping
