2013 has been banner year for ATV and UTV development. We've seen a huge influx of new and updated models.

ATV.com has compiled a list of its 10 favorite new machines, including the 2014 Honda Pioneer 700.

Agree with most of those...except i don't think the Wildcat trail will even be available until next year. So a DQ for it for 2013. It should be on the list for 2014, however.

Where is the revised Grizzly? Checks all the boxes WITHOUT suffering from "problems" like most non-Japanese machines.

Most overlooked ATV: Suzuki King Quad ( all displacements with IRS and PS ). Like the Grizz, it "checks all the boxes", has plenty of power, and i love the fact that it runs less RPM at cruise than most ( if not all ) CVT machines. Looks bad-ass too! This machine just can't seem to buy respect.

Had i not gone SxS, it would have been a toss-up between the KQ and Grizz for a new quad.

What could be one of the best ATV's ever, if Honda would just make the **** thing!: Honda Rubicon with IRS, EFI, PS, and that new Diff lock Honda finally came out with. Easily would set a new standard.

i don't know why the 2014 rancher 420 is on the 2013 list and they skipped the redesigned foreman 500 .......we went riding in fresh powder (about 10-15 in snow ) and the new 2014 foreman 500 went 100s of more feet (with the locker and completly stock ) then the 2006 foreman 500 with new 26in tires that i was riding .......man that locker makes a huge difference !!!!!!

DG, I would not trade my King Quad 750 for anything. Its a monster in power, speed, reliability, and any other metric you want to measure. It has done 5 years of hauling and pulling trailer and plowing snow, plus me taking it every place an ATV should not be able to go, and I have never replaced a thing on it, cept a boot. If Suzuki ever makes a SxS on that drive line, I'd be camping out to be first in line to buy.

I wasn't too crazy about the override button for the locker if you want some wheel speed but it seemed easy enough. Having all 4 wheels pulling makes a world of difference in certain situations.

Actually, I might buy a sport ATV. It would be for my kids, at this point. At least where I grew up and where I live now, it is very common to have 3-4 ATV/ UTVs per household.

I agree its hard to compare the two segments, but the list is a good reference to the differing styles available.
