About 2-3 years ago I participated in a consumer group discussion in Louisville about SXS design/performance......... It was conducted by an independent group, I was paid $250, and all the participants were either Polaris Ranger owners or John Deere gator 625/825 owners. Since buying my Honda Pioneer I wonder if this was the Honda guys trying to see what was most desired so they could design/build the Pioneer??????? Most of the questions that evening were about 4 seat design, and speed needs. I remember well the 4 seater questions were about the length needed for a four seater, most of the comments from the participants did not like the added length and most of the speed questions were answered along the line of 45 mph was good, but we wanted the power to get moving, not so concerned with big speed.

I don't know of any if the designers/engineers from Honda are on this site to answer if this was put on by Honda or not, but if you are, then thanks for building a machine that we suggested you should build.

Next time tell them you want low range.. lol I know it's not needed a lot of the times but around the farm and out on the trail there are a couples times it would be nice.

Yep, low range would take some stress off of the tranny and the driver. Trying to pick your way through BIG rocks, especially going up or down steep grades, you can't go too slow...

It's pretty cool that you got to participate in something like that. Not a bad payment for a day's work. It seems that they did a good job making the Pioneer a four-seater, so if you had something to do with that, thanks!
