I did have a shovel that time, but luckly an ATV passed by shortly after and helped pull me out. No need to say I now have a winch (granted I still need to install it).

Here's something else I came across when riding some local wood trails.

Half windshield does a surprisingly good job at deflecting wind, dust, snow away from hands, body and face. I like the feel of being out in the open. Also get 100% visibility all the time, it's light, cheap, easy to remove, wont pull dirt/snow in cabin. Full windshield gets dirty, scratched, has reflections, but of course also has other advantages.

The trails are compacted. Once you get off to one side, it's just loose snow and bye bye!
