I bought a Bose mini soundlink and made this..works awesome!! I used a heavy duty zip tie to hold the clamps to the case.. I just went with the simple route mounting the clamps with a ziptie...the thing makes awesome sound!! everyone was impressed I linked the things I bought at the bottom $260 total :)

Sounds like a good idea, but I can't see the pic. So I'll take your word for it. :)

Not sure what happened to the image and I can't edit it so here it is

I really like that. Thanks for posting it. Does that get pretty loud. Say if I was splitting wood by the pioneer or loading it, could I hear it?

for sure!! me and a friend were clearing trail so I would park and we would walk with loppers and the thing could be heard nicely 50 feet away and no problem hearing it over the motor..it has awesome bass compared to similar priced models and the sound is crisp as Bose should be.. just look at the glaring reviews on Amazon in the short time that it has been out.. the Bluetooth connection works up to 30 feet away nicely and once its memorized your device it takes as little as pushing the power button.. everyone that I have showed the device to can't believe the sound that such a small device can produce.. with a 7 hour replaceable battery I have yet to run out of battery in a single use..it also has ports to connect devices that don't have blue tooth.. the biggest asset and why I designed it the way I did is so I can take it out easily and bring it with me to listen/charge

another plus is not having to run your hour meter while jamming..im sure you were already aware of that lol

Love it! Ur a hi tech ******* (like me). Premium Bose speaker with a zip tie to mount = Awesome! I have to be honest. Didn't even see the zip tie the first time I looked at it.
Seems like a lot of people are going with wireless portable speakers in sxs's these days. I'd like to hear one. Looks good. Do you mount it on the cross bar above and behind your head?

With just me in it or just me and 1 passenger I put it on the cross bar right behind and above my head right in between us.. if there are 3-4 passengers I put on the cross bar in the rear so the sound travels over everyone.. the great thing about the clamps I'm using is I can quickly mount it anywhere on the roll cage and take it down just as fast..

I was thinking a marine radio in the dash, but now this may be the way to get it done.

the front crossbar works just as well as the middle and the rear. I have a hard roof and there's plenty of room.. the only reason I don't put it up front is because I have the Honda mirror which is huge and is taking the center space up front

is it waterproof?
you have any pics of it mounted on your Pioneer?
The Bose isn't waterproof but I have a hard roof and where it's mounted it would never get wet..maybe from splashing though but for me that's rare + I take it with me when not using it in the pioneer so weather was the least of my worries.. There are similar models with a similar price point that are weather resistant but the quality of the sound isn't near as nice IMO

I'll snap some pictures of it mounted at the beginning of this coming week.. It's supposed to be nasty and rainy all weekend so no plans to be at the land this weekend.. but it weighs only 1.7 pounds and is so small I hardly notice it and forget its even in there at times.. It hangs less than 3 inches from the bar to the bottom side of the Bose

EcoxGear Speaker

I bought this ecoxgear speaker and the dual usb charger which I am installing in between the two seat belt buckles. This speaker fits perfectly between the driver and passenger head rests and its 100% water proof, it actually floats. I will post pictures once the speaker is mounted.

I can vouch for the Bose sound link mini. I just got one and it is awesome! I have been buying Bose for 15 years now and I've never been disappointed. Its very loud, I havent had it in my Pioneer yet but could hear it throughout my house. The best part is the quality of the sound. Top notch.
