Took the Pioneer on its first serious mud ride today at High Lifter's Off Rode Park in Shreveport Louisiana. This was a benefit ride for a local children's hospital and the turnout was great. I was highly impressed with the Pioneers performance today! In a mud ride where the average SxS had lifts and 28in tires, my pioneer "with no lift and 27in Big Horns" followed the High Lifter crew all day with very little problems. I have to admit, it did feel a little weird being the only Honda SxS in a group of fifteen plus Polaris Ranger's and RZR's. In fact, I only got stuck twice and that was due to getting high centered. If I had a lift, the Pioneer would have rolled through the park with no problem and four passengers. The Pioneer climbed up some three feet ruts, straight up some very steep hills, spun the tires in the mud, and spun them some more pulling a Ranger out of the mud. I only noticed the lack of power vs. the Ranger when I was pulling the Ranger out of a mud hole. Other than that, I felt no difference in the two. I do feel like the Pioneer would struggle to spin anything larger than a 28in mud tire in thick mud though but that's not why I bought it. Very impressed with this machine and its performance.
