What does everyone think of the two tops options for the P4? Pro and Con's? What's your thoughts, probably will be going with the split windshield for dust control in the summer.

Too me the hard top gives a lot better protection for falling debris and gives me more room for my melon.

Well, I don't really need anymore room for my melon:D I actually could do a chop top job on it and have room to spare but I won't.

My main concern with the soft top is that overhead pine limbs will wreck it, so I guess I will bite the bullet and get the Hard top. Yikes these sxs's are expensive by the time a guys gets done with a wind screen, top, winch, (tracks:D) oh well, you can't take it with you.

My thinking on it is. At fully decked out I might be close to a xp900 crews price with no accessories.

I haven't seen one of the soft tops in person, is it along the lines of a jeeps soft top in texture and thickness?

The soft top is a pretty heavy canvas. It would not take a minute to remove it for trailering. I could see a tree limb snagging it though. It comes with 2 fiberglass rods and I think it acutally provides more head room than the hard top. My plan is to use the Honda soft top as a template and have one made locally that would use clear heavy duty plastic in the center section to give a more open feel and so I could look through it.

I like that idea. I could use that for rear seat coverage

I'd actually be interested in seeing how that turns out.
How much do you figure it will cost to make one?

You could just cut a hole in the hard top and put a sunroof in!

I have the hardtop and glass windshield. Took back plexiglass seemed to get scratched too easy. Couldn't be happier with hard top and full glass
