My name is Mark. I have had a P2 for several weeks. I plan to use it for duck hunting transportation, and for retriever field training. I have been very pleased so far at least as far as using it to move equipment and dogs around for retriever training. I have a hard top installed, and am waiting on the factory winch mount. In fact, I am tired of waiting on it and about to go after market for a mount and winch. I have a light bar and rear bumper on order, and am contemplating what to do to add a stereo. Choices!

yup there are a ton of choices when it comes to the addon's you can get and welcome to the forum !!!!!
(pictures are a good thing !!!!)
Welcome to the forum. The KFI winch plate is A LOT cheaper than the Honda plate. With the money saved on the plate you could add the stereo system...
Welcome to the forum! Good choice for duck hunting ;)
Welcome to the forum!! You have any pics??
Welcome to the forum! I think duck hunting is a good reason to own a Pioneer :D I am also waiting on that same winch plate  Dealer has my windshield, plow, winch, and hardtop.....no mounting plate.

We like pictures!
I can shoot some pictures when I am out dog training this weekend. It will just be a muddy pioneer with wet dogs and ducks, though!

I like that KFI mounting plate, but I would really like to wait until someone pulls a Pioneer out of a big old mud hole with that mount, to see how much if any it yanks on the horizontal tubes. I am fairly ticked at Honda for not having something so basic as a winch mount available with the roll out of the bike. Trying to decide between the factory Warn (whether or not purchased from Honda) or a Superwinch.

If winch speed is important (as in snowplowing) the Warn winch is twice as fast as a Superwinch. Overall winch power is even. Had them both and would spend more for a Warn in Minnesota anyway.
Thanks for that tip! I have discovered you can spend about as much or little on a winch if you want, and its hard to get real solid info on them.
I think winches is one of those things you get what you pay for. I will probably be getting a warn. I know they a little more but you dont hear near the bad reviews like you do some of the others.
I am stuck on pulling the trigger on a Warn 4500-s and the KFI mount. Compared to the price Honda wants for the still unavailable winch mount, its like buying the factory mount and getting the winch for free. Then I have to find someone to mount/wire it for me locally. I need to find out if an aux battery will be required for the 4500-s.

Has anyone seen what a Honda winch mount plate looks like, or how it compares to the KFI? I'm about ready to make my own in the shop if I don't hear from Honda soon. I'm not that crafty, so would need a picture of a design.
Wish I had taken pics for you before I did the install. I will say that I have access to a very large fab shop that belongs to a family member and still decided to try the KFI for $55 delivered. It's a quality piece and went in in about 40 min. Saved my brain from excess thinking
The Honda winch plate has an estimate for availability for mid November. For the price they want I will not get any of them in to tell you how they are built. KFI has been building great products so I will probably be using those until my winch supplier has them available.
Late to the party but welcome to the forum!
