the basket took up 3 afternoons, the winch/switch panel about 2 hours. Although I though about the design for a couple of days.LOL And I take a lot of naps.
I fabricated everything. Got the plastic off ebay. Saw the plastic panel material on a forum somewhere ($2 + $2.30 shipping Ebay).lol. Switches, I've used before on other projects($55 for all). Fuse block was $8 for 3 of them from Amazon. I thought I was getting 1.lol Voltmeter was something like $10, from Amazon. Winch was $189 and mount was $54-from Amazon. Luckily, I rigged boats in my 20's, so electrical stuff comes pretty easy. Made a cardboard templet(3 different ones)then transferred measurements to the plastic, once I decided on the layout. Cut out holes with a dremel & hole saw. Used crimp-on spade connectors, but also soldered the wires into them. Learned that lesson from many years of saltwater boating. The fairlead I machined on my hobby mill out of 1/2" aluminum scrap. I get drops at a friends place of business. I was a little ticked off that the KFI mount didn't accept the standard size, but it gave me a reason to make some chips fly. I love to use my mill and lathe.
