I've read thru the forum and complaints seem pretty low. except accessory lack of availability, fender flares and power. the aftermarket will step up to offer more stuff for them.
yep, I've read quite a few that talk about gearing too. I don't think Honda will go to a big motor like what can am, arctic cat, john deere or Polaris have. I think they may step up the power eventually, but maybe to a 750. I'd like to see the pioneer with rear diff that can be unlocked, tilt steering, 3 person seating on the bench, eps. and why don't they offer some LE models that have cool wheels, nicer seats and throw in some accessories like a winch, top and brush guards. I think customers would like that.

Tell the truth I dont see the 675 going anywhere anytime soon but if they do step up I think it might be to the 850 range and itll probably be v twin and when that happens the rest better watch out. 1400lb utv with 850 cc honda. I dont see them doint the rear end either id like to see them do it but not setup like the big red moreless just add a rear lock lever. But I have my play pretty for many years to come

For me the biggest complaint is the suspension. It's absolutely horrible for high speed riding. I know that's what it's not meant for but the top speed is only 45pmph and I wasnt even coming close to that speed. I would definitely add shocks into your budget. I'm forgoing tires and wheels for shocks. That's the biggest drawback.

But everything else is great. It has very light steering for non power. The top speed and no low gear doesn't really bother me at all. It's almost the perfect sxs. It's quite versatile and has a nice price. Can't go wrong. Besides the shocks. Lol

If Honda made most of these a reality, that in effect would then make the Pioneer more expensive. My pockets a fairly deep, I don't think I would dig deeper to give more to Honda. Lets keep this the most affordable dual purpose sxs on the market.

for normal trail riding and work the shocke work just fine .....its at high speed hitting bumps he doesn't like them .the averege rider does like 14-20 mph and there fine at that speed but at 30+hitting big bumps some are bottoming out (my guess is honda will fix this in next years model)

Well lets go with the cons first:

1. Power, while its not horrible more power would be nice.
2. I'll agree on the shocks, but not to the tune of what walker evans wants.

Pretty short list of cons.

Pros:

1. Best seat configuration of any 4 seater on the market bar none!
2. No belt drive.
3. Good clearance.
4. Accessories, I know they are expensive but the ones I've seen are very good quality and easy to install.
5. No EPS, I know allot of people think this is a con but to me its not. I do not see a need for PS on the pioneer even with tracks. It is very light steering and its one less electronic gadget to fail on the trail. Having been out with a polaris that had eps and failed try to steer it after that happens in the middle of nowhere. NOT FUN.
6. Stable, with the motor and tranny mounted as low as possible and as centered on the vehicle as possible it really hangs in there.
7. Ability to stuff 28" tires under it w/out lifting it.
8. Nimble.
9. Thank you Honda for finally putting a diff lock in, 3 wheel drive sucks!
10. Doors, I really like the doors Honda put on them.

Out of all the pro's number 1 is what sold me on the Honda, I want to be able to take my family with me w/out taking something that is as long as a **** bus. Yes I'm talking to you polaris, if I wanted a Jeep I'd have bought one, your 4 seater is ridiculously long. Anyway the Pioneer 4 is a great rig.

Exactly rich450es. It's just on open areas with a few dips it will bottom out fairly easy around 27mph on up. I'm just waiting for one of our fellow members to install his and give us a review before I buy a set.
