Do live deer count in this thread? I have about 15 deer I help through the winter here, they love beef finisher. They say we loose about 30% of our deer here because of the tough winters but all of mine make it through so I must be helping a little.
I have learned a lot from feeding them. They can hear a car coming down the road 3 to 4 times as far as I can hear one coming. I don't think they see as good as people think they seem to struggle to make me out from a distance until I say something. When they do hear something they stop and listen but loose interest very quickly if nothing else is heard. One day I went out all dressed in hunters orange they never acted any different. They do see good at night and pick up movement easily. Oh and they do say they prefer red pioneers.

Here is my trophy, it was just an 8 pt but scored very high and made the NB record book. It weighed 245 lbs field dressed would have stood well over 300 lbs, they don't get much bigger than that around here.
