Forgive me if I mess this up but I am in the market to buy a new Pioneer and have a couple of questions. This is my first UTV purchase
1. Does the Pioneer have plenty of power to work and play?
2. Average top end speed of this UTV.
3. Any down fall to adding custom wheels or tires?
4. This one may sound stupid but does it have a 12volt external power supply(cigarette lighter) Cannot find many pictures of the inside
5. What has been the most common problem?

Thanks
Bobby

1 I believe it has the power one would need.
2 top speed 43-45 good avg run speed 30-40
3 depends on size, marginal at best
4 yes mounted on dash 1 outlet
5 availability of aftermarket accessories

I'm also new to this market, I am really enjoying the pioneer. There are many with much more experience here that will chime in.

I'm actually going to pick up my HP from the dealership today, so I won't comment on questions 1-4, other than to say MOST feel the power of the HP is more than enough unless adding oversize tires and then doing extreme mudding.

As far as aftermarket acc., yes it seems that has been an issue. Even getting the Honda acc has been slow from what I've read. I asked about this when ordering the acc I want, the dealer checked and said all are available and I should they should have them in about a week. I ordered split poly windshield, hard top, soft back, soft doors, light bar and switch panel.....we'll see I guess. Dealer would like me to ride it and put some hours on so they can do the first service when installing the acc.

BTW, I am going with an aftermarket plow and winch because I could save about $600, I'll have to see how long that takes to get!

1. Power. You can carry a 1,000lb payload in the bed and tow 1,500lbs. For playtime, the Pioneer runs two different shift maps, one tailored for cruising the trials and one for best putting its power to the ground under aggressive driving and climbing.

2. 43mph stock

3. I run 28" Bighorn 2.0's with 14" rims and love every minute of it.

4. Yes it has 1 in the dash.

5. Finding one. Demand has far outweighed supply in a lot of areas.

Best of luck in your decision, and welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum to you as well. If you want to put up some pics of the new machine after you take delivery, we all really like photos! :)

Greetings!

1) It depends on what you are going to do with it. What is your mission, so to speak? If racing your buddies and winning and having the most badazz ride, you will want more power. Its not a V-twin by design. If running miles through flooded beans and gumbo mud up to the floorboards, it will get you there, slowly but surely, but you might secretly want a little more "hole shot" in case of a panic moment. That may be tranny versus horses, I can't make up my mind. For anything else, you will be happy as a clam with a Pioneer.

2) About 44 mph, which is about as fast as I ever want to go in the woods anyway. Otherwise my hat flies off and my dome gets sunburned.

3) I have no idea, but plan to find out soon!

4) Yes, there is one mounted on the dash.

5) The price of Honda's accessories, and the lack of availability of non-Honda after market accessories.

Welcome to the forum!
