Just upgraded to larger tires & wheels (Front 26 x 10 & Rear 26 x 12) and as you can see they made a huge appearance difference. Plus with the wider 14” wheels over the 12” it even handles better. I am aware that this may not be a desirable change for some applications, but for the type of Southern California desert terrain I will use it in, this is a big improvement.

I like those rims, almost a hint of GT500 in them. Looks really good!

Yeah, now that you mention it, they do somewhat have the old GT 500 look to them (you must be as old as me to even recognise the similarity) .
I'm not old enough that I saw them roll off the line. However, I've always had fast in my blood, and those days, back in the 60's really brought it to the mainstream.

Ahh to go back before emissions control and attempts at gas mileage.

Well, since I graduated high school in the early 60's I can remember seeing them shortly after they hit the streets. I am also probably not too far behind the oldest guy on this forum but God has been good to me by giving me good health and most say that I don't look even close to my age (but I'm not so sure about that). Hey.... if you want to put a face to the name you can see my brief 6 second appearance in this product video starting at 1:14 and going to about 1:20. Gopher X Demo videos - photos I'm only there for a few seconds but that's me with the shovel. Sorry no Honda Pioneer's in the video though.

Thanks for sharing that Qualt. I feel famous by association now! :)

Also, if I need to kill some gophers, I know who to talk too.

I agree

Looks sharp! Honda should offer some alloy wheels stock......some form of an "LE" model or something.
I agree and along with that they should also upgrade the suspension with, at least, better shocks. But my guess is that Honda wanted to keep the price down so that is why they came out with them the way they did......... and then let the buyer upgrade it the way they want.

It is interesting you mentioned something like an LE model because I finally gave my Pioneer a good comparison test at my California desert place, and even though I think we may be seeing the Side X Side future in Honda's automatic trans, the overall Pioneer is still way behind some of the other brands I have owned when it comes to a performance recreational vehicle.

However, I bought the Pioneer primarily as a utility machine and it looks like it is going to be very good for that application.........If anyone cares I may do a longer write up on my experience comparing it to other machines I currently own and have owned in the past.

I also included two new pictures of the Pioneer, in the Desert, with the wheels looking dirty. Ok, I know that isn't dirty to some of you guys but we don't usually have a lot of mud in the desert (and it has never snowed in the 92259 zip code area)

Ok I will do it.

You (and others) post a lot of good comments, and I have picked up some good points from them, so I will do it at least as a courtesy to you.

I will try to get to it today but if not it will need to be next week.
