I purchased a new pioneer 4 today. I have owned about every type of Honda power product and ATV they make over the past 30 years. I always love the high quality and high resale value of Honda products. I have a couple of Polaris RZRs only because Honda never filled that segment of the market. I have done a lot of mods on the RZRs and can't wait to do the same on the pioneer. Comparing the build quality of the Pioneer to the RZRs is like night and day. The Honda is built much better and I look forward to reliabilty that the RZRs never had.

Welcome to the forum! Couldn't agree more about the reliability part. I too own a Pioneer 4 and so far couldn't be happier. Love to see some photo's of your rigs sometime and what you do with them!

Rzr air cleaner problems are pretty well known. hard to get a good seal everytime with the factory air filter setups. I had to rebuild my upper end on my 570 due to dust ingestion. I know of several other rzrs in my area that had the same problems. General build quality is poor. My planned mods are similar to what I have done to my RZRs except for the ones Honda has already engineered correctly. I don't have to come up with solutions for bad air filters. I will definitly be getting a roof and windsheild, mirrors. I will be putting on radial tires but I am impressed with the stock tires on the pioneer. My RZR had 2 ply tires is all. The stock pioneer tires are really pretty good compared to many stock tires. I had one of the first 570 razors and took it to UTV tech for full skid plates and A arm guards etc. They used it for their tester so all the cool stuff was free, about $1200 worth of free stuff. They are probably going to do the same thing for me on the pioneer. I had one of their storage boxes in the garage that I never used on a razor and it looks like I can modify it pretty easily to work in the Pioneer. If fox shocks ever come out with shocks for the pioneer I would get those ASAP. They transformed my 50 inch rzrs into great rides. I am sure EZ steer will soon be making a power steering unit for the pioneer. For $600 it is a great mod. I have some wheel adaptors coming from SUPER ATV that will let me use all my 4 on 156 polaris wheels on my pioneer that uses a 4 on 110 bolt pattern.

I came up with a way to anchor the UTV tech box. On the sides I was able to attach a turnbuckle to each side of the UTV box and use the rear seat back anchor for a anchor point for the lower hook portion of the turnbuckle. I then drilled 2- 1/4 inch holes in the back of the box and anchored it to the front of the bed using a U bolt. I will use wing nuts on this bolt so the whole thing can be taken off with no tools. The box does have a built in Keyed lock and is made of aluminum. The cargo bed still tilts and the box can be removed in a couple of minutes. UTV makes larger and smaller boxes.
