Pioneer on a successful hunt today

10111 Views 19 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  Moose
Hey folks, do you think it would be cool to start 2 threads, "Pioneer at Work" and "Pioneer at Play" where we can post pictures in both catagories. I guess hunting would be play? Anyways opening day of mule deer season today was a success and they fit nicely in the back of the Pioneer. I didn't hit the dump lever though, just backed into the barn. If you guys or moderators think its a good idea, we can post pictures of both play and work and see what fills up the most.

Nice!!! How much it weighed? I scratched today, try again in the mornin!

As far as threads, you can start whatever you want! I think its a good idea!
Nice 3 point. Congrats! What caliber is your rifle. I went to get my tag ready to take and searched the house inside and out looking for it. Looked on my DWR account and forgot to purchase it altogether. Grrr Very disappointing.
Thanks!

It's not a real big one, i guess 150lbs? Will be a good eating one though.

It's a 30-06, I use it for both deer and elk. Are you still going to be able to hunt, purchase license??
Thanks!

No it's to late for a tag now. Here you have to purchase a annual hunters license as well as the deer license. Got the hunters but not the deer tag not sure how I missed it. My pioneer deer hunt will have to wait till next year.
awesome stuff. what you shooting with? It does fit in there but I'd imagine if you had to go up a steep hill it would just slide right out.
If i had to guess, id have to say he drove it with the tailgate up.

Your right, tailgate was closed. Not to steep coming out but might have slid out. I only got a little blood in the back this time and was thinking it might have got on the seats. I hit the dump position and hosed it out, all was well. I think I could have made a real mess, so might get the bed liner or a rubber mat. I coyote/fox hunt too and don't want my Grand kids to raise a seat and get a surprise.
they have those durable plastic/rubber lineers that are pullout to rinse and wash. you just have to find out that fits the back of the pioneer.
Grandson's Deer

Here is a photo of the Grandson's deer on the back of the pioneer.

I can't wait to get my boys out hunting. They are 5 and 4. We got them their first bow and BB gun last summer. I think I was just as excited as them.

How old is your grandson?

That is Jacob he is thirteen.

This is his brother Jerry he is twelve.

They both got a deer today. There is going to be some good eats out of those two deer.

Cool pics. I've got a pair of grandsons that are hunters too…..just a bit older. Good times. I have a small Polar (brand) trailer that I recover our deer with. It's got a plastic "tub" that swivels, dumps and tilts….no lifting. Keeps the blood out of the bed….and no lifting. :)
Deer Hunting West Tx

Im new to forum and new Pioneer owner as of Nov. Here are some pics of our Deer hunt West Tx. My youngest is 11 got his first Whitetail 9 pt. Pioneer is great works on hills, rocks, rattlesnakes, and mud no problem. I don't recommend the plexiglass windshield. Very hard to see through when sun hits it early or late afternoon. Took back to get Glass windshield. Otherwise love our new Pioneer. We will use it mostly for Hunting, working, and some fun of course.
