The Polaris Ranger is actually available in over 10 configurations all +/- about $2,000 to the Pioneer but the Ranger 800 fits this comparison best with MSRP of $11,599.

the specs you posted of the ranger. is that the one specd at $11,599?

It sounds like the Ranger is a pretty serious machine based on paper.
I know man, If i wasnt set on the Pioneer-4 I'd pick up a ranger in a heartbeat.

2,000 lb towing is better than a Nissan Rogue, Honda CR-V and Mitsubishis Outlander while on par with SUVs like the Mazda CX-7 and Kia Sportage. The closest American vehicle is the dodge journey with 2,500 lbs. Impressive...

The pioneer loosest the engine battle but you have to admit the cargo capacity and towing is impressive.
yep, for the Pioneer to have the smallest engine but the second most cargo payload and second most towing is very impressive indeed. I wonder if it has to do with the automotive style transmission. I believe the Pioneer has a variation of Hondas CVT transmission.
