Went out to move the small fish house tonight. Tracks are pretty much required for pulling.

How did it go? Everything smooth as silk?
It went very good. It runs real nice in second gear. Not enough power to shift into third gear pulling it. This house weighs about 1200 lbs. my other house is 2200 lbs so am curious to see how it goes with that one. I think it will be fine, just slower.

Are these things (sxs's) as good in the snow (on tires) as ATV's?

Depends. If a sxs and an ATV had the same clearance and tires. I'd say the sxs would be better. More weight won't get hung up as easy. That would depends a lot on terrain and snow type too
In my experience sxs are better unless you get stuck. Then the extra five hundred lbs is a if deal. If the snow is barely hard enough to ride on top of then the Atv is better for staying on top. But that can be dangerous if you are traveling fast and break through you can cartwheel pretty easy with the higher enter of gravity on an atv

Have you ever been stuck with tracks?
Have you ever been stuck with tracks?
I used to use a rincon with tracks at an old job.

When that sucker got stuck it was stuck. Didn't happen very often but it was a lot of digging to get it out.

It was a lot of fun to ride.
I have been stuck several times with the tracks and it sucks, haven't been stuck with the pioneer yet, but I have tried to climb hills I could not climb. I ran out of traction and just spun out. Nearly every time I have been stuck with tracks was cruising through cattails and just dropping in. I also sunk a prowler with tracks on it in a river one time. That was ugly, had to chainsaw the ice to get it to shore then winch it out. On flat cruising I haven't ever been stuck with the tracks unless I was pulling a fish house with out skis on the tires.
awesome photo.

putting the pioneer to work!

so where are the photos of the catch? :)
