Can the P5 be squeezed on to a 5X8 trailer with rails and a ramp? I could probably make extensions for the ramp locking mechanism, so it wouldnt be at a 90 degree angle at the rear....

Thinking about buying a P5 would rather not have to get a new trailer!

5x10 Works Great

Like others said, a 5x8 is very tight! I went with a 5x10 and very happy I did. Plus, the 5x10 gives you a little extra room to distribute the load on your hitch better. Very happy I went with the 5x10, I have a small Mazda Tribute I pull mine with.

Go with the 5x10! I went through the same decision making process as you, I was so glad I went with the 5x10! Rather have a little extra room than not enough! The 5x8 is so tight, you have no room to position your load on the trailer, you definitely want weight on your hitch to prevent the trailer from swaying! Plus, if you want to throw some gas cans, ice chest, etc, the 5x10 gives you that flexibility! Enjoy your 500, I certianly have enjoyed mine!
