Hi Yall....had to sound southern since I live in Alabama. My Honda trx300 finally died (or cost too much for me to get it fixed this time) and I am in the market for something new and better. One of my grandsons thinks I need a SxS instead of four wheeler. Since I am in my sixties, that is probably a better idea than having to throw my leg across a 4 wheeler.

I have enjoyed the trx300 and like Honda, so I have migrated toward the Pioneer. I have joined the forum to get some good reviews on the Pioneer product and what I should get.

I plan to browse the discussions, but any and all help greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum lakngulf! You've come to a good place to do some research. I too have a trx300 and it is what sold me on the other Honda products I've bought through the years. My 300 is a 94 model and it still runs as good as day one and I've worked it like an ole mule through the years. I wanted a SxS for years and I'm glad I waited to purchase one until now. I haven't put a lot of miles on the one I have but to date but I am well pleased with it's performance. And my grandson love's it when him and I ride around. lol

Welcome to the forum. We have a pretty good group around here, we like to answer questions too. The Pioneer is a great mix of work and pleasure SxS. If you have any specific questions or need help finding certain info. Feel free to ask in a thread, I'm also happy to answer by the message system here as well.

i drove researched them all. Use mine mainly for Hunting, Fun and Working on ranch. Works great and i really love mine. Compared to Polaris, Viking, Arictic CAt Price value and reliability of Honda and room for 4 people, could not beat it.

Do you associate the reliability to the Pioneer because of Honda's other successful products...atv, etc? How long has Honda offered the Big Red?

I saw a Polaris Ranger 500 last week and was shocked at the footprint of that machine compared to a regular size 4 wheeler. How would the Pioneer compare to the Ranger, size-wise?

A friend of mine has a John Deere Gator XUV 825. I was seriously considering one of those, until I started pricing all the accessories I wanted. Just the doors for the cab cost $2500.00 and everything else was REALLY pricey. I think the Pioneer is a much better value and it's the only side-by-side that doesn't have a belt drive.

They are in Tallassee.
We hope to be back in the area this coming summer or fall. It is a pretty good distance so the visits are not as often as we would like.

Uh Oh

Pioneer Money Diverted

Sad to say that some of the money I had reserved for a SxS, and hopefully a Pioneer, will be diverted to another cause. On last day of hunting season I was headed to the farm in my F150, hit a patch of ice, zip, zip and I was up against the trees. Thankfully, the seat belt and air bags did their job and I was not harmed. Truck was totaled, got check in hand, but will have to put some money with it to get a decent replacement. So, I may be in the market for an inexpensive Honda ATV instead of the Pioneer....bummer.

Lakngulf sorry to hear of your misfortune, but your still sucking air and that's a good thing. See there is a bright side to everything.
