Just made my reservation at the wind rock camp ground. Anyone here going to be there for the honda ride on march 27, 28 & 29. Kind of don't know what I am getting myself into. This will be a first for me. I think it will be a lot of fun. Will a stock pioneer 2 be ok for this ride?

Been there twice a few years back and we had a blast. I remember seeing SxS's back then so I'd guess the trails are more than SXS friendly. (wide enough) We spent a lot of our time riding the roads seeing the scenery. The wind mills are cool too. As I remember the trails are all rated for difficulty. I'm sure you'll have a ton of fun.

Thanks GaPioneer, just took a look at some of the YouTube videos, I am thinking I might be biting off more than I can chew. Hope they a scenic trail or two as I am not into tearing up my pioneer. Challenge it a bit in the hills, it loves the mud here In flat NC. :)

Don't worry they have plenty of trails and roads that are easy to moderate. I know because those are the one's I ride. I don't mind a few hills, rocks and some water but I leave the extreme stuff for everyone else. lol
Tell me more about this Honda ride? I've been wanting to go back. Are going to camp or stay in a hotel?

I'm going to go if my pioneer is back in time. I've rode there since 2004 I like it. But there is no way I'm going to take mine on any of the extreme trails. I tore the crap out of my rock sliders and warn skids down there on the extreme trails.

I think the cabins might be full. Plenty of camp sites. I booked a camp site for
26,27,28,29. I will be camping in my truck camper and towing the pioneer. The 26th is a free ride for those that come early. It will probably take me most of the day to get there. Maybe enough time for a short run. I am really glad to here there are a lot of easy trails. I don't mind testing the pioneer but I don't want to hurt my new ride.

Wind Rock Park campground 865-435-1251 for reservations

I have a bigger trailer for the pioneer

That's a good looking rig Barry. I hinted to the DW about coming up and riding a couple days. She didn't flat out object so that's a good thing. lol

We've got a fifth wheel but odds are if we can come we'd just stay in a local motel. I just don't know how comfortable I'd be with the pioneer behind the fifth wheel.

Is this an organized ride? I looked at Coal Creeks schedule and didn't notice it, but my eyes aren't what they used to be.

Thanks GaPioneer, go to Hondasxs.com that is where the ride is being organized. I can understand the fifth wheel and towing behind it. That is one of the things I like about the truck camper. My wife and I are thinking about a fifth wheel. We want to travel in a year or two. We'd like to have a little more room for that adventure. I am looking forward to the trip, now to get everything ready. I will probably go with the pioneer stocked. I have not made my mind up on options yet. Hopefully I'll be ok, I'm really not looking to see what it can't do.

Ricn450es, thanks on the 300, it was stollen just before Christmas. I lost a good one. The stolen 300 is why I now have the pioneer 2. If the pioneer is have as dependable I will be happy. The rig in the photo is my set up to go to Portsmouth island.
