I purchased an KFI Stealth 4500 winch for my Pioneer. Got it all mounted with no problem till it came time to hook the battery to the contractor. The battery cables suppled for withe KFI are way to short. What size wire should I use to make my own? I am thinking 6 gauge, but am not sure.

Try swapping the wires around. Use the black and red for the winch, and the blue and yellow to the battery. I used the yellow for positive, and the blue for ground. Works great if you ar e mounting the contractor in the front under the hood.

if you do make cables id get the same size that's with the winch because the winch and battery aren't near big enough to need bigger
